Heights and Distances

The cosine rule can be used to find unknown lengths or angles in a triangle, especially in non-right triangles, using the formula: $c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab \cos(C)$.

Height can be calculated using the formula: $h = d \cdot \tan(\theta)$, where $h$ is height, $d$ is distance from the object, and $\theta$ is the angle of elevation.

Using $h = d \cdot \tan(45°)$, height $h = 10 \cdot 1 = 10$ meters.
