3Memorise in This Order

  2. 2. x5 and x11 - strong number patterns
  3. 3. x3 and x4 - build rhythm
  4. 4. x6 and x9 - connect to known facts
  5. 5. x7, x8 and x12 - final challenge tables
45-Minute Daily Routine
  1. 1 minute: Read one table aloud with rhythm
  2. 2 minutes: Cover the table and recall it
  3. 1 minute: Say the table backwards
  4. 1 minute: Practise facts in random order
5Remember Faster
  • Learn one or two tables at a time
  • Say facts aloud using a steady rhythm
  • Use turn-around facts to reduce memorisation
  • Mark facts that take longer than three seconds
  • Review after 10 minutes, one day and one week
  • Practise shuffled facts, not only in sequence
Quick Tip
Start with x1, x2, x5 and x10, then use turn-around facts to cut the number of new facts to learn.
